Gritty opening batsman and specialist slip fielder. Sheftel adds some much needed northern steel to a top order consisting mostly of flamboyant Southern pansy strokemakers. His determination at the crease is highlighted by the fact that he comfortably topped the amateur batting averages for the past two seasons, no mean feat for an opening batsman. Andy is always willing to put his fingers on the line to take another stinging catch at slip or gully and is an under-appreciated (in his eyes) spin bowler.
